A Fashion Photographer Straight from New York!

A photo out of the ordinary

All the ideas are here for a good photoshoot. Creativity is the key

The photographer herself

I recently have been in contact with one of the amazing fashion & portrait photographer but also a creative director from New York, MEAGAN CIGNOLI. You will learn more about her not only through her pictures, but also through this interview:

  • What sparked your interest in photography?      Travel, color, cultures, and interesting people that I felt I needed to capture.
  • How did you develop your skills as a photographer?     Some schooling at SVA ICP (school visual of art and international center for photography). I also had great assistants helping, and a lot of practice.
  • What does it take to be a fantastic photographer?      Any art is subjective to the taste of the viewer. I've never been told by anyone that they did not like my work, but perhaps someone will one day. I really believe in my work and love what I do, so that in my mind makes me fantastic !But I think understanding composition, exposure and having a decent camera really help too.
  • Tell me about working as a fashion photographer in New York :   New York is an incredible place to be a fashion photographer because NYC is the heartbeat of the fashion industry. So many talented people here to work with, so many gorgeous models, and so much fashion!
  • What is the best way to find work as a fashion and beauty photographer?  Network, get good, get good representation.
  • What advice do you have for individuals interested in pursuing a career in (fashion) photography?   Shoot a lot, test, find a great team, and once you have a good book start to look for work.
  • What do you love the most about your job? Deciding what I feel like working on.

With a strong background in fashion, this amazing artist will go far. If you are interested in her work, have a look at her website: Click here  !
